On Jan. 9, 2013, Japanese platinum bar jumped up 1.7 percent, landing at JPY 4,447 ($51.19) per gram and making it the day’s biggest increase. Chinese platinum bar gained 1.2 percent to finish at CNY 336.50 ($54.04) per gram. The price of US platinum bar held steady at $1,549 per ounce.
Following a two-day drop, the price of US palladium bar increased by 0.6 percent to $672.00 per ounce. Chinese palladium bar prices rose 0.3 percent to CNY 164.00 ($26.34) per gram. The price of Japanese palladium bar steadied at JPY 1,890 ($21.75) per gram following two-days of dropping prices.
The price of US gold bullion rose 0.8 percent to $1,661 per ounce after a two-day drop. At JPY 4,676 ($53.82), the price of Japanese gold bullion finished the market day up 0.8 percent per gram. Chinese gold bullion finished the day up 0.5 percent to CNY 333.15 ($53.50) per gram. After a 0.1 percent increase, Indian gold bullion finished the day at INR 30,557 ($555.55) per 10 grams.
The price of US silver increased 0.8 percent to $30.41 per ounce. Japanese silver saw its price rise 0.8 percent to JPY 854.00 ($9.83) per 10 grams. Chinese silver prices inched up 0.4 percent to CNY 6,135 ($985.23) per kilogram. Indian silver finished the day up 0.3 percent to INR 57,352 ($1,043) per kilogram.
