On Jan. 9, 2013, the Japanese platinum bar price jumped up 1.7 percent, making it the day’s biggest increase on MetalMiner’s global precious metals index. Chinese platinum bar gained 1.2 percent, and the price of US platinum bar held steady between $1,500 and $1,550 per ounce.
Following a two-day drop, the price of US palladium bar increased by 0.6 percent. Chinese palladium bar prices rose 0.3 percent. The price of Japanese palladium bar steadied following two days of dropping prices.
The price of US gold bullion rose 0.8 percent after a two-day drop. The price of Japanese gold bullion finished the market day up 0.8 percent per gram. Chinese gold bullion finished the day up 0.5 percent per gram. After a 0.1 percent increase, Indian gold bullion finished the day up on local markets.
The price of US silver increased 0.8 percent. Japanese silver saw its price rise 0.8 percent. Chinese silver prices inched up 0.4 percent. Indian silver finished the day up 0.3 percent.
