Japanese Palladium Bar Sees Large Increase

Japanese palladium bar saw a 3.7 percent increase on Jan. 10, 2013, reaching JPY 1,959 ($22.22) per gram and making it the biggest upwards shift of the day. At $686.00, the price of US palladium bar finished the market day up 2.1 percent per ounce. Chinese palladium bar prices rose 1.5 percent to CNY 166.50 ($26.74) per gram.

Japanese platinum bar saw its price rise 2.1 percent to JPY 4,540 ($51.51) per gram. Chinese platinum bar prices inched up 1.0 percent to CNY 340.00 ($54.61) per gram. The price of US platinum bar held steady at $1,549 per ounce.

Japanese gold bullion gained 0.6 percent to finish at JPY 4,704 ($53.37) per gram. At INR 30,422 ($555.45) per 10 grams, Indian gold bullion fell 0.4 percent yesterday. The price of US gold bullion fell 0.2 percent to $1,658 per ounce. The price of Chinese gold bullion remained essentially flat at CNY 332.83 ($53.46) per gram.

Indian silver finished the day down 1.8 percent to INR 56,316 ($1,028) per kilogram. Japanese silver finished the day up 0.4 percent to JPY 857.00 ($9.72) per 10 grams. The price of US silver declined 0.2 percent to $30.36 per ounce. Chinese silver stayed flat at around CNY 6,135 ($985.35) per kilogram.
