On Jan. 11, 2013, US copper producer prices were the primary movers on the daily copper index. Grades 102, 110 and 122 all experienced the biggest change, rising 0.9 percent.
The Japanese copper cash price was unchanged.
Chinese copper prices were mixed for the day. Chinese copper bar gained 0.5 percent. The Chinese copper cash price increased 0.5 percent. The price of Chinese copper wire increased 0.3 percent. Chinese bright copper scrap stayed flat.
On the LME, the 3-month price of copper gained 0.7 percent to finish at $8,116 per metric ton. Also on the LME, the primary copper cash price rose 0.7 percent to $8,145 per metric ton.
