After a Couple Changeless Days, Cash Price of Primary Indian Aluminum Weakens

On Jan. 14, 2013, the day’s biggest mover was the cash price of primary Indian aluminum, which saw a 0.5 percent decline to INR 112.65 ($2.06) per kilogram. On the LME, the aluminum 3-month price gained 0.4 percent to finish at $2,116 per metric ton. On the LME, the cash price of primary aluminum increased 0.1 percent to $2,076 per metric ton.

Chinese aluminum closed mixed on Monday. The Chinese aluminum cash price declined 0.1 percent to CNY 15,040 ($2,419) per metric ton. The price of Chinese aluminum scrap saw essentially no change for the fifth day in a row, remaining around CNY 12,800 ($2,059) per metric ton. The price of Chinese aluminum billet showed little movement on Monday at CNY 15,050 ($2,421) per metric ton. For the fifth day in a row, the price of Chinese aluminum bar remained essentially flat at CNY 14,050 ($2,260) per metric ton.
