Chinese Platinum Bar Moves Up 1.6%

Chinese platinum bar saw the biggest upwards shift for the day, rising 1.6 percent to close at CNY 348.50 ($56.05) per gram on Jan. 14, 2013. The price of US platinum bar saw little movement at $1,549 per ounce. After a couple of days of improving prices, the price of Japanese platinum bar held steady at JPY 4,675 ($52.21).

Chinese palladium bar prices rose 0.9 percent to CNY 170.00 ($27.34) per gram. Following a two-day rise, the price of Japanese palladium bar flattened at JPY 1,999 ($22.33). The price of US palladium bar flattened at $698.00 after two days of improvement.

US gold bullion finished the day down 0.7 percent to $1,663 per ounce. At INR 30,438 ($555.82) per 10 grams, Indian gold bullion fell 0.4 percent yesterday. The price of Chinese gold bullion declined 0.4 percent to CNY 334.60 ($53.82) per gram. The price of Japanese gold bullion steadied at JPY 4,782 ($53.41) per gram following two-days of increases.

The price of US silver fell 1.4 percent to $30.44 per ounce. Chinese silver prices saw a 0.6 percent decline to CNY 6,180 ($994.02) per kilogram. Indian silver closed 0.4 percent lower at INR 57,215 ($1,045) per kilogram. The price of Japanese silver ended a two-day climb, settling at JPY 880.00 ($9.83) per 10 grams.
