Japanese Platinum Bar Rises 2.3%

On Jan. 15, 2013, Japanese platinum bar jumped up 2.3 percent, landing at JPY 4,781 ($53.43) per gram and making it the day’s biggest increase. For the 7th day in a row, the price of Chinese platinum bar rose and is currently at CNY 352.00 ($56.56) per gram. The price of US platinum bar remained essentially flat at $1,549 per ounce.

The price of Japanese palladium bar increased 1.6 percent to JPY 2,031 ($22.70) per gram. The price of Chinese palladium bar has been on the rise for 7 days and is now at CNY 171.50 ($27.56) per gram. US palladium bar saw its price rise 0.9 percent to $704.00 per ounce.

Chinese gold bullion prices rose 0.4 percent to CNY 336.00 ($53.99) per gram. US gold bullion prices inched up 0.3 percent to $1,668 per ounce. Japanese gold bullion finished the day up 0.1 percent to JPY 4,788 ($53.51) per gram. The price of Indian gold bullion remained steady at INR 30,438 ($558.44) per 10 grams.

At $31.08, the price of US silver finished the market day up 2.1 percent per ounce. After a 1.3 percent increase, Chinese silver finished the day at CNY 6,260 ($1,006) per kilogram. Japanese silver gained 0.8 percent to finish at JPY 887.00 ($9.91) per 10 grams. The price of Indian silver showed little movement yesterday at INR 57,215 ($1,050) per kilogram.
