Renewables MMI®: Silicon Rises 2.3%

The week’s biggest mover on the weekly Renewables MMI®, silicon jumped 2.3 percent to close at CNY 13,300 ($2,137) per metric ton. Closing at CNY 209,000 ($33,583) per metric ton, Chinese cobalt cathodes remained unchanged for the week. Prices for neodymium remained constant, closing the week at CNY 455,000 ($73,078) per metric ton. At CNY 4,240 ($681.31) per metric ton, the week finished with no movement for Chinese steel plate.

Japanese steel plate prices held steady from the previous week at JPY 80,000 ($894.03) per metric ton. At KRW 1.1 million ($1,037) per metric ton, the price of Korean steel plate did not change since the previous week. At CNY 4,240 ($681.31) per metric ton, the week finished with no movement for Chinese steel plate. Closing at $749.00 per short ton, US steel plate remained unchanged for the week.

The price of US grain-oriented electrical steel (GOES) coil stands at $3,235 per metric ton.
