US Palladium Bar Shifts 1.8%

US palladium bar saw a 1.8 percent increase on Jan. 17, 2013, reaching $722.00 per ounce and making it the biggest upwards shift of the day. At JPY 2,000 ($22.56) per gram, Japanese palladium bar fell 1.5 percent on Thursday. For the 9th day in a row, the price of Chinese palladium bar rose and is currently at CNY 174.00 ($27.97) per gram.

Japanese platinum bar finished the day down 0.9 percent to JPY 4,740 ($53.47) per gram. The price of Chinese platinum bar has been on the rise for 9 days and is now at CNY 358.00 ($57.55) per gram. For the fifth consecutive day, the price of US platinum bar held flat at $1,549 per ounce.

Japanese gold bullion closed 0.4 percent lower at JPY 4,768 ($53.79) per gram. Weakening prices followed two days of improvement as the price of Chinese gold bullion dropped 0.2 percent to CNY 337.00 ($54.18) per gram. Following a two-day rise, the price of US gold bullion flattened at $1,680. The price of Indian gold bullion held steady at INR 30,503 ($557.71) per 10 grams.

The price of Japanese silver fell 0.8 percent to JPY 880.00 ($9.93) per 10 grams. US silver finished the day up 0.4 percent to $31.49 per ounce. The price of Chinese silver steadied at CNY 6,355 ($1,022) per kilogram following two-days of increases. Indian silver saw little change in its price yesterday at INR 57,532 ($1,052) per kilogram.
