Japanese Palladium Bar Climbs 5%

Japanese palladium bar saw the biggest upwards shift for the day, rising 5.0 percent to close at JPY 2,099 ($23.36) per gram on Jan. 18, 2013. For the 10th day in a row, the price of Chinese palladium bar rose and is currently at CNY 174.50 ($28.06) per gram. After a 0.1 percent increase, US palladium bar finished the day at $723.00 per ounce.

Japanese platinum bar rose 3.6 percent to JPY 4,910 ($54.65) per gram. Following a two-day rise, the price of Chinese platinum bar flattened at CNY 358.00 ($57.56). The price of US platinum bar remained essentially flat at $1,549 per ounce.

The price of Japanese gold bullion increased 2.7 percent to JPY 4,899 ($54.53) per gram. Chinese gold bullion saw its price rise 0.5 percent to CNY 338.55 ($54.44) per gram. US gold bullion finished the day up 0.4 percent to $1,687 per ounce. Indian gold bullion finished the day down 0.2 percent to INR 30,429 ($559.62) per 10 grams.

Japanese silver prices inched up 2.6 percent to JPY 903.00 ($10.05) per 10 grams. At INR 58,574 ($1,077), the price of Indian silver finished the market day up 1.8 percent per kilogram. Chinese silver prices rose 0.8 percent to CNY 6,405 ($1,030) per kilogram. US silver gained 0.8 percent to finish at $31.73 per ounce.
