Chinese Silver Rises 1%

At CNY 6,470 ($1,041) per kilogram, Chinese silver moved up 1.0 percent on Jan. 21, 2013, the day’s biggest change. The price of US silver has been on the rise for 7 days and is now at $31.89 per ounce. Indian silver prices inched up 0.2 percent to INR 58,698 ($1,092) per kilogram. The price of Japanese silver showed little movement last Friday at JPY 903.00 ($10.01) per 10 grams.

After a 0.2 percent increase, Chinese gold bullion finished the day at CNY 339.24 ($54.58) per gram. Indian gold bullion prices rose 0.2 percent to INR 30,479 ($567.10) per 10 grams. The price of US gold bullion fell 0.1 percent to $1,685 per ounce. The price of Japanese gold bullion remained steady at JPY 4,899 ($54.31) per gram.

The price of Chinese platinum bar declined 0.6 percent to CNY 356.00 ($57.28) per gram. The price of US platinum bar remained essentially flat at $1,549 per ounce. Japanese platinum bar stayed flat at around JPY 4,910 ($54.44) per gram.

For the 13th day in a row, the price of Chinese palladium bar rose and is currently at CNY 176.00 ($28.32) per gram. The price of US palladium bar declined 0.6 percent to $719.00 per ounce, after two days of improvement. The price of Japanese palladium bar held steady at JPY 2,099 ($23.27) per gram.
