Renewables MMI®: Silicon Rises 1.5%

Closing at CNY 13,500 ($2,170) per metric ton on the weekly Renewables MMI®, silicon rose 1.5 percent to finish as the week’s biggest mover. At CNY 209,000 ($33,592) per metric ton, the price of Chinese cobalt cathodes did not change since the previous week. At CNY 455,000 ($73,078) per metric ton, the week finished with no movement for neodymium. Closing at CNY 4,240 ($681.49) per metric ton, Chinese steel plate remained unchanged for the week.

Prices for Japanese steel plate remained constant, closing the week at JPY 80,000 ($892.54) per metric ton. Korean steel plate prices held steady from the previous week at KRW 1.1 million ($1,039) per metric ton. At CNY 4,240 ($681.49) per metric ton, the price of Chinese steel plate did not change since the previous week. US steel plate prices ticked up 1.2 percent over the past week to $758.00 per short ton.
