Current Aluminum Prices
On the LME, the primary aluminum cash price gained 0.4 percent to finish at $2,008 per metric ton. At $2,046, the 3-month price of aluminum finished the market day on the LME up 0.3 percent per metric ton.
Chinese aluminum prices were flat for the day.
Current Copper Prices
On Jan. 23, 2013, the day’s biggest mover was the price of US copper producer grades 102, 110, and 122, which saw a 0.7 percent increase. The cash price of primary Japanese copper continues hovering in place for the fifth day in a row.
Chinese copper closed mixed yesterday. Chinese copper wire finished the day up 0.1 percent. Following a two-day rise, the price of Chinese copper bar flattened. After a couple of days of improving prices, the cash price of Chinese copper held steady, and the price of Chinese bright copper scrap was unchanged.
