Cash Price of Primary Indian Aluminum Up 2.3%

On Jan. 23, 2013, the day’s biggest mover was the cash price of primary Indian aluminum, which saw a 2.3 percent increase to INR 110.10 ($2.05) per kilogram. This increase comes after the price fell for the two previous days. On the LME, the primary aluminum cash price gained 0.4 percent to finish at $2,008 per metric ton. At $2,046, the 3-month price of aluminum finished the market day on the LME up 0.3 percent per metric ton.

Chinese aluminum prices were flat for the day. Chinese aluminum scrap saw little change in its price on Wednesday at CNY 12,730 ($2,045) per metric ton. The price of Chinese aluminum billet remained steady at CNY 14,900 ($2,394) per metric ton. The price of Chinese aluminum bar saw little movement at CNY 14,050 ($2,257) per metric ton. The cash price of Chinese aluminum saw little movement yesterday, closing out around CNY 14,960 ($2,404) per metric ton.
