Japanese Silver Moves Up 1%

At JPY 905.00 ($10.22) per 10 grams, Japanese silver moved up 1.0 percent on Jan. 24, 2013, the day’s biggest change. At INR 58,582 ($1,091) per kilogram, Indian silver fell 0.7 percent on Thursday. Chinese silver finished the day down 0.5 percent to CNY 6,450 ($1,037) per kilogram. For the 10th day in a row, the price of US silver rose and is currently at $32.23 per ounce.

Following a quiet couple of days, the price of Chinese gold bullion fell 0.6 percent yesterday to CNY 337.96 ($54.31) per gram. The price of Indian gold bullion declined 0.4 percent to INR 30,564 ($569.42) per 10 grams. Following a couple days of improvement, the price of US gold bullion weakened by 0.4 percent. Prices closed at $1,685 per ounce. Following a two-day drop, the price of Japanese gold bullion increased by 0.4 percent to JPY 4,822 ($54.43) per gram.

The price of Chinese platinum bar declined 0.8 percent to CNY 357.00 ($57.37) per gram, after two days of improvement. The price of Japanese platinum bar rose 0.6 percent to JPY 4,823 ($54.44) per gram after a two-day drop. For the fifth consecutive day, the price of US platinum bar held flat at $1,549 per ounce.

The price of Chinese palladium bar closed at CNY 177.00 ($28.44) per gram. Following a couple days of improvement, prices fell by 0.3 percent. The price of US palladium bar increased 0.1 percent to $725.00 per ounce. After a couple of days of decreasing prices, the price of Japanese palladium bar held steady at JPY 2,063 ($23.29).
