US Silver Prices Fall 1.9%

US silver saw a 1.9 percent drop on Jan. 25, 2013, landing at $31.62 per ounce and making it the biggest mover of the day. Chinese silver finished the day down 1.6 percent to CNY 6,345 ($1,020) per kilogram. Japanese silver prices rose 0.2 percent to JPY 907.00 ($10.01) per 10 grams. The price of Indian silver remained steady at INR 58,582 ($1,091) per kilogram.

US gold bullion ended the day at $1,667 per ounce, after the 1.0 percent drop last Friday. Japanese gold bullion gained 0.9 percent to finish at JPY 4,864 ($53.71) per gram. The price of Chinese gold bullion fell 0.8 percent to CNY 335.25 ($53.90) per gram. The price of Indian gold bullion held steady at INR 30,564 ($569.43) per 10 grams.

Japanese platinum bar finished the day up 1.7 percent to JPY 4,905 ($54.16) per gram. Chinese platinum bar closed 0.1 percent lower at CNY 356.50 ($57.31) per gram. The price of US platinum bar continues hovering around $1,549 per ounce for the fifth day in a row.

Japanese palladium bar prices inched up 1.7 percent to JPY 2,099 ($23.18) per gram. The price of Chinese palladium bar declined 0.6 percent to CNY 176.00 ($28.29) per gram. The price of US palladium bar flattened at $725.00 after two days of improvement.
