Renewables MMI® metals had a quiet week, with Chinese cobalt cathodes hovering around CNY 209,000 ($33,577) per metric ton. Silicon traded sideways last week, hovering around CNY 13,500 ($2,169) per metric ton. At CNY 455,000 ($73,078) per metric ton, the price of neodymium did not change since the previous week. Closing at CNY 4,240 ($681.18) per metric ton, Chinese steel plate remained unchanged for the week.
Japanese steel plate prices held steady from the previous week at JPY 80,000 ($884.25) per metric ton. At KRW 1.1 million ($1,024) per metric ton, the week finished with no movement for Korean steel plate. At CNY 4,240 ($681.18) per metric ton, the price of Chinese steel plate did not change since the previous week. Prices for US steel plate remained constant, closing the week at $758.00 per short ton.
The price of US grain-oriented electrical steel (GOES) fell 5.8 percent this month to $3,491 per short ton.
