Current Copper Prices
Chinese copper wire saw the biggest upwards shift for the day, rising 1 percent on Jan. 30, 2013.
Chinese copper bar prices rose 0.9 percent, and the cash price of Chinese copper finished the market day up 0.8 percent per metric ton. The price of Chinese bright copper scrap moved yesterday after a few changeless days; prices dropped 0.3 percent.
After a 0.7 percent increase, the prices of US copper producer grades 102, 110 and 122 finished the day up. The cash price of primary Japanese copper continues hovering in place for the fifth day in a row.
On the LME, the 3-month price of copper held steady around $8,010 per metric ton. The cash price of primary copper saw little movement on Wednesday on the LME, closing out around $8,045 per metric ton.
Current Aluminum Prices
The cash price of primary Indian aluminum closed as the biggest mover for Jan. 30, 2013. Switching from a downward trend, the metal closed with a 2.2 percent increase.
On the LME, the 3-month price of aluminum fell 0.5 percent to $2,035 per metric ton. Also on the LME, the primary aluminum cash price declined 0.4 percent to $1,997 per metric ton.
The cash price of Chinese aluminum gained 0.3 percent. The price of Chinese aluminum scrap continues hovering in place for the fifth day in a row. The price of Chinese aluminum billet remained essentially flat. The price of Chinese aluminum bar held steady.
