Japanese Silver Rises 2.2%

 On Jan. 31, 2013, Japanese silver jumped up 2.2 percent, landing at JPY 928.00 ($10.19) per 10 grams and making it the day’s biggest increase. US silver finished the day up 2.0 percent to $32.02 per ounce. At CNY 6,440 ($1,035), the price of Chinese silver finished the market day up 1.6 percent per kilogram. Indian silver prices inched up 1.2 percent to INR 58,200 ($1,092) per kilogram.

Japanese gold bullion gained 0.8 percent to finish at JPY 4,913 ($53.97) per gram. The price of US gold bullion increased 0.8 percent to $1,676 per ounce. After a 0.6 percent increase, Chinese gold bullion finished the day at CNY 337.35 ($54.23) per gram. At INR 30,169 ($565.91) per 10 grams, Indian gold bullion fell 0.1 percent yesterday.

At JPY 4,924 ($54.09) per gram, the price of Japanese platinum bar was essentially unchanged. Chinese platinum bar saw little change in its price on Thursday at CNY 357.00 ($57.39) per gram. The price of US platinum bar remained essentially flat at $1,549 per ounce.

For the 7th day in a row, the price of Japanese palladium bar rose and is currently at JPY 2,214 ($24.32) per gram. US palladium bar closed 0.1 percent lower at $747.00 per ounce. The price of Chinese palladium bar showed little movement on Thursday at CNY 182.00 ($29.26) per gram.
