Price of US Copper Producer Grade 122 Weakens After Climb

 On Feb. 1, 2013, the day’s biggest mover was US copper producer grade 110 price, which saw a 0.2 percent decline to $4.36 per pound. The price of US copper producer grade 122 closed at $4.36 per pound. Following a couple days of improvement, prices fell by 0.2 percent. Following two days of rising prices, the price of US copper producer grade 102 dropped 0.2 percent to $4.55 per pound. The Japanese copper cash price saw little movement at JPY 640,000 ($6,978) per metric ton.

Chinese copper closed mixed last Friday. Chinese bright copper scrap saw its price rise 0.2 percent to CNY 48,760 ($7,841) per metric ton. After a couple of days of improving prices, the price of Chinese copper bar held steady at CNY 59,500 ($9,568). The cash price of Chinese copper flattened at CNY 59,700 ($9,600) after two days of improvement. Following a two-day rise, the price of Chinese copper wire flattened at CNY 58,680 ($9,436).

On the LME, the 3-month price of copper saw little movement last Friday at $8,168 per metric ton. Also on the LME, the cash price of primary copper showed little movement last Friday, hovering around $8,215 per metric ton.
