Chinese Platinum Bar Falls 6.5%

With a decline of 6.5 percent to CNY 336.95 ($54.07) per gram on Feb. 5, 2013, Chinese platinum bar recorded the biggest price drift of the day. US platinum bar finished the day up 1.3 percent to $1,695 per ounce. At JPY 5,028 ($54.54) per gram, Japanese platinum bar fell 0.9 percent on Tuesday.

US palladium bar prices inched up 1.9 percent to $755.00 per ounce. Japanese palladium bar ended the day at JPY 2,219 ($24.07) per gram, after the 1.3 percent drop yesterday. The price of Chinese palladium bar fell 0.5 percent to CNY 182.00 ($29.21) per gram.

Indian gold bullion saw its price rise 0.8 percent to INR 30,387 ($570.23) per 10 grams. US gold bullion prices rose 0.6 percent to $1,674 per ounce. At CNY 337.00 ($54.08) per gram, the price of Chinese gold bullion was essentially unchanged. Japanese gold bullion held its value yesterday at JPY 4,983 ($54.06) per gram.

After two changeless days, the price of Japanese silver fell 1.2 percent to JPY 917.00 ($9.95) per 10 grams. US silver gained 0.9 percent to finish at $31.76 per ounce. After a 0.7 percent increase, Indian silver finished the day at INR 57,996 ($1,088) per kilogram. At CNY 6,400 ($1,027), the price of Chinese silver finished the market day up 0.2 percent per kilogram.
