US copper producer grade 110 price experienced the biggest price decline of the day, dropping 0.7 percent to close at $4.37 per pound on Feb. 7, 2013. The price of US copper producer grade 122 saw a 0.7 percent decline to $4.37 per pound. The price of US copper producer grade 102 fell 0.7 percent to $4.56 per pound. The Japanese copper cash price remained essentially flat at JPY 640,000 ($6,848) per metric ton.
Chinese copper prices were mixed for the day. At CNY 59,600 ($9,566) per metric ton, Chinese copper bar fell 0.5 percent on Thursday. The Chinese copper cash price weakened by 0.5 percent, settling at CNY 59,800 ($9,598) per metric ton. The price of Chinese copper wire remained steady at CNY 58,950 ($9,462) per metric ton. Chinese bright copper scrap saw little change in its price yesterday at CNY 48,760 ($7,826) per metric ton.
The primary copper cash price closed at $8,230 per metric ton. Following a couple days of improvement, the metal’s price weakened by 0.7 percent on the LME. The 3-month price of copper changed direction with a 0.5 percent drop. After two days of improving prices, the metal finished at $8,199 per metric ton on the LME.
