US copper producer grades 102, 110 and 122 prices experienced the biggest price decline of the day, dropping 0.7 percent on Feb. 7, 2013.
The Japanese copper cash price remained essentially flat.
Chinese copper prices were mixed for the day. Chinese copper bar fell 0.5 percent on Thursday. The Chinese copper cash price weakened by 0.5 percent. The price of Chinese copper wire remained steady. Chinese bright copper scrap saw little change in its price yesterday.
The primary copper cash price closed at $8,230 per metric ton. Following a couple days of improvement, the metal’s price weakened by 0.7 percent on the LME. The 3-month price of copper changed direction with a 0.5 percent drop. After two days of improving prices, the metal finished at $8,199 per metric ton on the LME.
