Cash Price of Primary Indian Aluminum Sees Small Jump

The Indian aluminum cash price saw a 0.8 percent increase on Feb. 8, 2013, reaching INR 110.70 ($2.08) per kilogram and making it the biggest mover for the day. On the LME, the aluminum 3-month price gained 0.5 percent to finish at $2,105 per metric ton. The primary aluminum cash price is back up, rising by 0.3 percent on the LME last Friday to close at $2,066 per metric ton.

Chinese aluminum prices were flat for the day. For the fifth consecutive day, the price of Chinese aluminum scrap held flat at CNY 12,650 ($2,029) per metric ton. The price of Chinese aluminum billet saw little movement at CNY 14,850 ($2,382) per metric ton. The price of Chinese aluminum bar held steady at CNY 14,050 ($2,254) per metric ton. The Chinese aluminum cash price saw little change in its price last Friday at CNY 14,880 ($2,387) per metric ton.
