The price of Japanese platinum bar fell 2.2 percent on Feb. 8, 2013 to JPY 5,133 ($54.81) per gram, making it the day’s biggest mover. Weakening prices followed two days of improvement as the price of US platinum bar dropped 1.0 percent to $1,717 per ounce. The price of Chinese platinum bar ended a two-day climb, settling at CNY 368.50 ($59.11) per gram.
The price of US palladium bar declined 1.6 percent to $750.00 per ounce. Following a couple days of improvement, the price of Japanese palladium bar weakened by 1.4 percent. Prices closed at JPY 2,220 ($23.71) per gram. Chinese palladium bar stayed flat at around CNY 184.00 ($29.52) per gram.
The price of Japanese gold bullion declined 0.9 percent to JPY 5,014 ($53.54) per gram, after two days of improvement. The price of US gold bullion fell 0.4 percent to $1,671 per ounce. Indian gold bullion gained 0.1 percent to finish at INR 30,432 ($571.76) per 10 grams. Chinese gold bullion saw little change in its price last Friday at CNY 337.80 ($54.19) per gram.
Japanese silver prices saw a 1.5 percent decline to JPY 907.00 ($9.69) per 10 grams. US silver finished the day down 1.2 percent to $31.46 per ounce. At INR 57,706 ($1,084) per kilogram, Indian silver fell 0.3 percent last Friday. The price of Chinese silver remained steady at CNY 6,405 ($1,027) per kilogram.
