The price of US copper producer grade 102 saw the biggest increase at 0.9 percent, finishing at $4.60 per pound for Feb. 11, 2013. The price of US copper producer grade 110 gained 0.5 percent to finish at $4.39 per pound. The price of US copper producer grade 122 increased 0.5 percent to $4.39 per pound. The Japanese copper cash price saw essentially no change for the fifth day in a row, remaining around JPY 640,000 ($6,915) per metric ton.
Chinese copper prices closed flat for the day. At CNY 59,600 ($9,531) per metric ton, the price of Chinese copper bar was essentially unchanged. The Chinese copper cash price saw little movement on Monday at CNY 59,800 ($9,563) per metric ton. Chinese copper wire held its value yesterday at CNY 58,950 ($9,427) per metric ton. The price of Chinese bright copper scrap saw little movement at CNY 48,760 ($7,798) per metric ton.
The cash price of primary copper saw a 0.1 percent decline on the LME to $8,240 per metric ton. Also on the LME, the copper 3-month price showed little movement on Monday, hovering around $8,215 per metric ton.
