Current Copper Prices
The day’s biggest mover was the price of US copper producer grade 102 which dropped by 1.4 percent on Feb. 12, 2013. The price of US copper producer grade 110 declined 0.9 percent to $4.35 per pound. The price of US copper producer grade 122 also weakened by 0.9 percent.
The Japanese copper cash price held steady.
Chinese copper prices (wire, scrap, others) closed flat for the day.
On the LME, the 3-month price of copper gained 0.5 percent to finish at $8,257 per metric ton. Also on the LME, the primary copper cash price fell 0.3 percent to $8,216 per metric ton.
Current Aluminum Prices
On Feb. 12, 2013, the 3-month price of aluminum experienced the biggest change on MetalMiner’s daily price service, rising 0.6 percent on the LME to $2,117 per metric ton. Also on the LME, the cash price of primary aluminum rose 0.5 percent to $2,076 per metric ton.
Chinese aluminum prices were flat for the day.
