Small Drift for US Copper Producer Grade 102 Price

The day’s biggest mover was the price of US copper producer grade 102 which dropped by 1.4 percent on Feb. 12, 2013 to close at $4.54 per pound. The price of US copper producer grade 110 declined 0.9 percent to $4.35 per pound. The price of US copper producer grade 122 weakened by 0.9 percent, settling at $4.35 per pound. The Japanese copper cash price held steady at JPY 640,000 ($6,794) per metric ton.

Chinese copper prices closed flat for the day. At CNY 59,600 ($9,561) per metric ton, the price of Chinese copper bar was essentially unchanged. The cash price of Chinese copper saw little movement yesterday, closing out around CNY 59,800 ($9,593) per metric ton. The price of Chinese copper wire was unchanged at CNY 58,950 ($9,457) per metric ton. The price of Chinese bright copper scrap saw essentially no change for the fifth day in a row, remaining around CNY 48,760 ($7,822) per metric ton.

On the LME, the 3-month price of copper gained 0.5 percent to finish at $8,257 per metric ton. Also on the LME, the primary copper cash price fell 0.3 percent to $8,216 per metric ton.
