Japanese Silver Rises 2.7%

Closing at JPY 916.00 ($9.82) per 10 grams on the Feb. 13, 2013, Japanese silver rose 2.7 percent to finish as the day’s biggest mover. Following a two-day drop, the price of Indian silver increased by 0.6 percent to INR 57,219 ($1,062) per kilogram. US silver finished the day up 0.5 percent to $31.12 per ounce. The price of Chinese silver continues hovering around CNY 6,405 ($1,028) per kilogram for the fifth day in a row.

Japanese gold bullion finished the day down 0.6 percent to JPY 4,938 ($52.93) per gram. Following a 0.2 percent rise on Wednesday, the price of US gold bullion closed at $1,651 per ounce. The price of Indian gold bullion showed little movement on Wednesday at INR 30,231 ($561.34) per 10 grams. At CNY 337.80 ($54.19) per gram, the price of Chinese gold bullion was essentially unchanged.

The price of US platinum bar rose 1.6 percent to $1,713 per ounce after a two-day drop. Japanese platinum bar saw its price rise 0.7 percent to JPY 5,142 ($55.12) per gram. Chinese platinum bar saw little change in its price yesterday at CNY 368.50 ($59.12) per gram.

The price of Japanese palladium bar increased 2.0 percent to JPY 2,296 ($24.61) per gram. After a 1.7 percent increase, US palladium bar finished the day at $770.00 per ounce. For the fifth day in a row, the price of Chinese palladium bar remained essentially flat at CNY 184.00 ($29.52) per gram.
