Japanese Silver Price Drops 2.5%

Japanese silver had the largest decline on Feb. 14, 2013, dropping 2.5 percent and landing at JPY 893.00 ($9.57) per 10 grams. US silver ended the day at $30.78 per ounce, after the 1.1 percent drop yesterday. The price of Indian silver declined 0.5 percent to INR 56,935 ($1,058) per kilogram. The price of Chinese silver saw little movement at CNY 6,405 ($1,027) per kilogram.

The price of US gold bullion fell 0.5 percent to $1,643 per ounce. Indian gold bullion finished the day down 0.2 percent to INR 30,180 ($560.70) per 10 grams. Following a 0.1 percent rise yesterday, the price of Japanese gold bullion closed at JPY 4,944 ($53.01) per gram. The price of Chinese gold bullion remained essentially flat at CNY 337.80 ($54.19) per gram.

Japanese platinum bar finished the day up 1.1 percent to JPY 5,197 ($55.72) per gram. US platinum bar prices inched up 0.3 percent to $1,718 per ounce. The price of Chinese platinum bar was unchanged at CNY 368.50 ($59.11) per gram.

After a 1.4 percent increase, Japanese palladium bar finished the day at JPY 2,327 ($24.95) per gram. The price of US palladium bar closed at $766.00 per ounce. Following a couple days of improvement, prices fell by 0.5 percent. For the fifth day in a row, the price of Chinese palladium bar remained essentially flat at CNY 184.00 ($29.52) per gram.
