3-Month Price of Aluminum Sees Small Jump

On Feb. 15, 2013, the 3-month price of aluminum experienced the biggest change, rising 1.4 percent on the LME to $2,159 per metric ton. On the LME, the primary aluminum cash price gained 1.3 percent to finish at $2,115 per metric ton. After a 0.6 percent increase, the cash price of primary Indian aluminum finished the day at INR 114.60 ($2.13) per kilogram.

Chinese aluminum prices closed flat for the day. The price of Chinese aluminum scrap saw little movement at CNY 12,650 ($2,029) per metric ton. The price of Chinese aluminum billet held steady at CNY 14,850 ($2,382) per metric ton. The price of Chinese aluminum bar continues hovering around CNY 14,050 ($2,254) per metric ton for the fifth day in a row. For the fifth day in a row, the Chinese aluminum cash price remained essentially flat at CNY 14,880 ($2,387) per metric ton.
