Closing at CNY 58,100 ($9,310) per metric ton on Feb. 21, 2013, Chinese copper bar saw the biggest change at a 1.6 percent. Chinese copper wire ended the day at CNY 57,215 ($9,168) per metric ton, after the 1.6 percent drop on Thursday. The cash price of Chinese copper saw a 1.6 percent decline to CNY 58,300 ($9,342) per metric ton. At CNY 48,850 ($7,828) per metric ton, the price of Chinese bright copper scrap was essentially unchanged.
The price of US copper producer grade 122 declined 0.9 percent to $4.24 per pound. The price of US copper producer grade 110 fell 0.9 percent to $4.24 per pound. The price of US copper producer grade 102 weakened by 0.9 percent, settling at $4.43 per pound. The Japanese copper cash price continues hovering around JPY 640,000 ($6,833) per metric ton for the fifth day in a row.
The copper 3-month price saw a 1.2 percent decline on the LME to $8,009 per metric ton. The cash price of primary copper weakened by 0.4 percent on the LME, settling at $8,038 per metric ton.
