Base Metals Price Roundup: Copper, Aluminum Still Falling

Current Copper Prices

On Feb. 22, 2013, the cash price of primary copper fell by 2.4 percent on the LME, landing at $7,847 per metric ton and making it the day’s biggest mover. Also on the LME, the 3-month price of copper fell 1.7 percent to $7,874 per metric ton.

The price of US copper producer grade 122 saw a 1.2 percent decline. The price of US copper producer grade 110 declined 1.2 percent as well. The price of US copper producer grade 102 weakened by 1.1 percent.

The cash price of primary Japanese copper remained essentially flat.

Current Aluminum Prices

The Indian aluminum cash price saw the biggest decline of the day, dropping 1.2 percent on Feb. 22, 2013.

On the LME, the 3-month price of aluminum declined 1.1 percent to $2,086 per metric ton. The cash price of primary aluminum weakened by 0.9 percent on the LME, settling at $2,046 per metric ton.

Chinese aluminum prices were also flat for the day.
