Prices for Primary Indian Aluminum Stay Low

The Indian aluminum cash price saw the biggest decline of the day, dropping 1.2 percent to close at INR 110.20 ($2.02) per kilogram on Feb. 22, 2013. On the LME, the 3-month price of aluminum declined 1.1 percent to $2,086 per metric ton. The cash price of primary aluminum weakened by 0.9 percent on the LME, settling at $2,046 per metric ton.

Chinese aluminum prices were flat for the day. After a couple of days of decreasing prices, the Chinese aluminum cash price held steady at CNY 14,580 ($2,337). The price of Chinese aluminum scrap remained essentially flat at CNY 12,650 ($2,027) per metric ton. The price of Chinese aluminum billet flattened at CNY 14,500 ($2,324) following two-days of declines. For the fifth day in a row, the price of Chinese aluminum bar remained essentially flat at CNY 14,050 ($2,252) per metric ton.
