Japanese Silver Rising

The price of Japanese silver rose 9.3 percent on Feb. 25, 2013, making it the day’s biggest mover. After two days of flat prices, it closed at JPY 871.00 ($9.24) per 10 grams. At INR 54,203 ($998.57), the price of Indian silver finished the market day up 0.4 percent per kilogram. The price of US silver increased 0.3 percent to $28.76 per ounce. Chinese silver stayed flat at around CNY 5,905 ($948.98) per kilogram.

Japanese gold bullion prices inched up 0.9 percent to JPY 4,807 ($51.00) per gram. Chinese gold bullion saw its price rise 0.3 percent to CNY 322.34 ($51.80) per gram. US gold bullion prices rose 0.3 percent to $1,582 per ounce. Indian gold bullion finished the day up 0.1 percent to INR 29,350 ($540.71) per 10 grams.

At CNY 344.00 ($55.28) per gram, Chinese platinum bar fell 1.4 percent yesterday. US platinum bar finished the day down 0.4 percent to $1,607 per ounce. The price of Japanese platinum bar is back up, rising by 0.3 percent yesterday to close at JPY 4,889 ($51.87) per gram.

The price of Japanese palladium bar gained 2.5 percent, closing at JPY 2,296 ($24.36) per gram. Following a two-day drop, the price of US palladium bar increased by 0.7 percent to $737.00 per ounce. At CNY 179.00 ($28.77) per gram, the price of Chinese palladium bar was essentially unchanged.
