Renewables MMI®: Week Closes 2.0% Down for Chinese Steel Plate

A 2.0 percent decline in Chinese steel plate made it the biggest mover of the week, closing at CNY 4,340 ($697.36) per metric ton on the weekly Renewables MMI®. Following a steady week, prices for Chinese cobalt cathodes closed flat at CNY 210,000 ($33,743) per metric ton. Silicon traded sideways last week, hovering around CNY 13,500 ($2,169) per metric ton. Neodymium remained essentially flat from the previous week at CNY 425,000 ($68,290) per metric ton.

Closing at JPY 80,000 ($856.40) per metric ton, Japanese steel plate remained unchanged for the week. Prices for Korean steel plate remained constant, closing the week at KRW 1.1 million ($1,008) per metric ton. US steel plate prices were off slightly at $728.00 per short ton, down from $729.00 a week ago.
