With a 0.4 percent increase on March 6, 2013, Chinese copper bar was the biggest mover on the Copper MMI®. At CNY 57,740 ($9,276), the cash price of Chinese copper finished the market day up 0.4 percent per metric ton. After a 0.3 percent increase, Chinese copper wire finished the day at CNY 56,640 ($9,100) per metric ton. The price of Chinese bright copper scrap showed little movement yesterday at CNY 47,010 ($7,553) per metric ton.
The price of US copper producer grade 122 gained 0.2 percent to finish at $4.13 per pound. The price of US copper producer grade 110 inched up 0.2 percent to $4.13 per pound. After a 0.2 percent increase, the price of US copper producer grade 102 finished the day at $4.32 per pound. The cash price of primary Japanese copper saw little movement at JPY 640,000 ($6,860) per metric ton.
On the LME, the cash price of primary copper declined 0.4 percent to $7,720 per metric ton. Also on the LME, the 3-month price of copper showed little movement yesterday, hovering around $7,744 per metric ton.
