Cash Price of Primary Indian Aluminum Sees Small Jump

On March 12, 2013, the day’s biggest mover was the Indian aluminum cash price, which saw a 2.4 percent increase to INR 105.35 ($1.94) per kilogram. The primary aluminum cash price saw a 1.6 percent decline on the LME to $1,895 per metric ton. On the LME, the 3-month price of aluminum declined 1.4 percent to $1,940 per metric ton.

Chinese aluminum prices were flat for the day. The cash price of Chinese aluminum held steady around CNY 14,530 ($2,335) per metric ton. The price of Chinese aluminum scrap held steady at CNY 11,625 ($1,868) per metric ton. Chinese aluminum billet held its value on Tuesday at CNY 14,450 ($2,322) per metric ton. The price of Chinese aluminum bar remained essentially flat at CNY 14,050 ($2,258) per metric ton.
