Current Copper Prices
The price of US copper producer grade 110 saw the biggest increase at 1.0 percent for March 13, 2013.
The price of US copper producer grade 122 increased 1.0 percent as well. The price of US copper producer grade 102 rose 0.9 percent. The Japanese copper cash price continues not moving.
Chinese copper prices were mixed for the day. Chinese copper bar prices rose 0.5 percent. After a 0.5 percent increase, the Chinese copper cash price finished the day up. Chinese copper wire gained 0.5 percent. Chinese bright copper scrap saw little change in its price on Wednesday.
On the LME, the copper 3-month price held steady around $7,701 per metric ton. The cash price of primary copper showed little movement on Wednesday on the LME at $7,675 per metric ton.
Current Aluminum Prices
The Chinese aluminum cash price rose only 0.1 percent on March 13, 2013, making it the day’s biggest mover.
For the fifth day in a row, the price of Chinese aluminum bar remained essentially flat. Chinese aluminum billet saw little change in its price on Wednesday. The price of Chinese aluminum scrap remained steady.
The aluminum 3-month price held steady yesterday on the LME, remaining around $1,940 per metric ton. The primary aluminum cash price remained essentially flat on the LME at $1,895 per metric ton.
