Japanese Platinum Bar Changes Direction

Following two days of increases, the price of Japanese platinum bar dropped by 1.1 percent to end at JPY 4,907 ($51.21) per gram on March 13, 2013. Chinese platinum bar ended the day at CNY 341.00 ($54.87) per gram, after the 0.6 percent drop yesterday. The price of US platinum bar remained essentially flat at $1,595 per ounce.

US palladium bar closed 0.6 percent lower at $772.00 per ounce. At CNY 185.00 ($29.77) per gram, Chinese palladium bar fell 0.5 percent yesterday. The price of Japanese palladium bar remained steady at JPY 2,396 ($25.00) per gram.

The price of US gold bullion increased 0.7 percent to $1,593 per ounce. Indian gold bullion saw its price rise 0.6 percent to INR 29,484 ($544.01) per 10 grams. At CNY 320.80 ($51.62), the price of Chinese gold bullion finished the market day up 0.5 percent per gram. After a couple of days of improving prices, the price of Japanese gold bullion held steady at JPY 4,899 ($51.12).

Indian silver gained 0.8 percent to finish at INR 54,472 ($1,005) per kilogram. Japanese silver prices rose 0.7 percent to JPY 897.00 ($9.36) per 10 grams. After a 0.6 percent increase, US silver finished the day at $29.15 per ounce. Chinese silver finished the day up 0.3 percent to CNY 5,970 ($960.61) per kilogram.
