Price of US Copper Producer Grade 122 Improves Slightly

The price of US copper producer grade 110 saw the biggest increase at 1.0 percent, finishing at $4.17 per pound for March 13, 2013. The price of US copper producer grade 122 increased 1.0 percent to $4.17 per pound. The price of US copper producer grade 102 rose 0.9 percent to $4.36 per pound. The Japanese copper cash price continues hovering around JPY 640,000 ($6,679) per metric ton for the fifth day in a row.

Chinese copper prices were mixed for the day. Chinese copper bar prices rose 0.5 percent to CNY 57,850 ($9,308) per metric ton. After a 0.5 percent increase, the Chinese copper cash price finished the day at CNY 58,050 ($9,341) per metric ton. Chinese copper wire gained 0.5 percent to finish at CNY 57,010 ($9,173) per metric ton. Chinese bright copper scrap saw little change in its price on Wednesday at CNY 46,850 ($7,538) per metric ton.

On the LME, the copper 3-month price held steady around $7,701 per metric ton. The cash price of primary copper showed little movement on Wednesday on the LME at $7,675 per metric ton.
