Chinese Silver Moves Down 1.3%

Chinese silver had the largest decline on March 14, 2013, dropping 1.3 percent and landing at CNY 5,890 ($947.86) per kilogram. Japanese silver ended the day at JPY 885.00 ($9.21) per 10 grams, after the 1.3 percent drop yesterday. Indian silver prices saw a 0.8 percent decline to INR 54,013 ($994.61) per kilogram. At $28.92 per ounce, US silver fell 0.8 percent on Thursday.

The price of Indian gold bullion changed direction with a 0.6 percent drop. After two days of improving prices, the metal finished at INR 29,294 ($539.43) per 10 grams. The price of Chinese gold bullion closed at CNY 319.75 ($51.46) per gram. Following a couple days of improvement, prices fell by 0.3 percent. Following two days of rising prices, the price of US gold bullion dropped 0.3 percent to $1,588 per ounce. Japanese gold bullion held its value on Thursday at JPY 4,901 ($51.03) per gram.

The price of Chinese platinum bar fell 0.6 percent to CNY 339.00 ($54.55) per gram. US platinum bar finished the day down 0.5 percent to $1,587 per ounce. Japanese platinum bar closed 0.1 percent lower at JPY 4,902 ($51.04) per gram.

The price of US palladium bar declined 0.3 percent to $770.00 per ounce. The price of Japanese palladium bar remained essentially flat at JPY 2,396 ($24.95) per gram. The price of Chinese palladium bar showed little movement yesterday at CNY 185.00 ($29.77) per gram.
