Current Copper Prices
Chinese copper bar moved up 1.4 percent on March 21, 2013, the day’s biggest change. The Chinese copper cash price rose 1.4 percent. Chinese copper wire prices rose 1.4 percent as well. The price of Chinese bright copper scrap remained essentially flat.
The price of US copper producer grade 122 rose 1.0 percent after a two-day drop. Following a two-day drop, the price of US copper producer grade 110 increased by 1.0 percent. Following a 0.9 percent rise yesterday, the price of US copper producer grade 102 closed up as well. The Japanese copper cash price saw essentially no change for the fifth day in a row.
The 3-month price of copper is back up, rising by 0.9 percent on the LME on Thursday to close at $7,604 per metric ton. The cash price of primary copper saw little movement yesterday on the LME, closing out around $7,574 per metric ton.
Current Aluminum Prices
Following a two-day flat streak, the price of Chinese aluminum billet climbed by 0.7 percent on March 21, 2013. The cash price of Chinese aluminum increased 0.3 percent. The price of Chinese aluminum bar held steady. The price of Chinese aluminum scrap saw little movement.
On the LME, the primary aluminum cash price rose 0.2 percent to $1,905 per metric ton. On the LME, the aluminum 3-month price declined 0.1 percent to $1,943 per metric ton.
