US Palladium Bar Up 3.3%

The price of US palladium bar closed up March 21, 2013 at $758.00 per ounce, halting two days of weakening prices with a 3.3 percent shift. The price of Chinese palladium bar is back up, rising by 1.2 percent yesterday to close at CNY 175.00 ($28.17) per gram. The price of Japanese palladium bar held steady at JPY 2,386 ($24.86) per gram.

After falling for two days, the price of US platinum bar rose 1.4 percent to $1,575 per ounce. The price of Chinese platinum bar rose 1.2 percent to CNY 334.00 ($53.77) per gram after a two-day drop. After a 0.9 percent increase, Japanese platinum bar finished the day at JPY 4,896 ($51.01) per gram.

Japanese gold bullion prices rose 0.6 percent to JPY 4,954 ($51.62) per gram. Following two days of rising prices, the price of US gold bullion dropped 0.4 percent to $1,607 per ounce. The price of Indian gold bullion closed at INR 29,654 ($545.39) per 10 grams. Following a couple days of improvement, prices fell by 0.3 percent. The price of Chinese gold bullion changed direction with a 0.2 percent drop. After two days of improving prices, the metal finished at CNY 322.04 ($51.84) per gram.

Weakening prices followed two days of improvement as the price of Indian silver dropped 0.4 percent to INR 53,924 ($991.75) per kilogram. US silver ended the day at $28.82 per ounce, after the 0.3 percent drop yesterday. The price of Chinese silver declined 0.2 percent to CNY 5,905 ($950.57) per kilogram. Japanese silver stayed flat at around JPY 881.00 ($9.18) per 10 grams.
