Chinese Primary Nickel Price Lower

On April 1, 2013, the price of Chinese primary nickel fell by 0.8 percent, landing at CNY 115,600 ($18,604) per metric ton and making it the day’s biggest mover. For the fifth consecutive day, the price of Chinese 304 stainless steel scrap held flat at CNY 17,800 ($2,865) per metric ton. The price of Chinese 316 stainless steel scrap held steady at CNY 16,100 ($2,591) per metric ton. The price of Chinese 304 stainless coil saw essentially no change for the fifth day in a row, remaining around CNY 17,800 ($2,865) per metric ton. The price of Chinese 316 stainless coil continues hovering around CNY 26,700 ($4,297) per metric ton for the fifth day in a row.

The price of Chinese ferro-chrome remained essentially flat at CNY 8,300 ($1,336) per metric ton. For the fifth day in a row, the price of Chinese ferro-moly remained essentially flat at CNY 145,000 ($23,335) per metric ton.

The cash price of primary Indian nickel saw little change in its price yesterday at INR 899.50 ($16.57) per kilogram. The 3-month price of nickel flattened at $16,695 following two-days of declines on the LME. Following two days of downward movement, the nickel spot price held steady at $16,535 per metric ton on the LME.
