The price of US copper producer grade 110 saw a 1.2 percent drop on April 4, 2013, landing at $3.96 per pound and making it the biggest mover of the day. The price of US copper producer grade 122 weakened by 1.2 percent, settling at $3.96 per pound. The price of US copper producer grade 102 saw a 1.2 percent decline to $4.15 per pound. The Japanese copper cash price continues hovering around JPY 640,000 ($6,890) per metric ton for the fifth day in a row.
Chinese copper prices were flat for the day. The price of Chinese copper bar flattened at CNY 55,780 ($8,994) after two days of improvement. Following a two-day rise, the cash price of Chinese copper flattened at CNY 55,980 ($9,026). The price of Chinese copper wire showed little movement yesterday at CNY 54,775 ($8,832) per metric ton. The price of Chinese bright copper scrap remained essentially flat at CNY 47,460 ($7,652) per metric ton.
On the LME, the copper 3-month price declined 0.4 percent to $7,436 per metric ton. Also on the LME, the cash price of primary copper fell 0.4 percent to $7,405 per metric ton.
