Current Aluminum Prices
The Indian aluminum cash price saw a 0.8 percent increase on April 8, 2013, making it the biggest mover for the day.
Following a two-day drop, the aluminum 3-month price increased by 0.7 percent on the LME to $1,874 per metric ton. Following a 0.6 percent rise on Monday, the primary aluminum cash price closed on the LME at $1,844 per metric ton.
Chinese aluminum closed mixed yesterday. Following a quiet couple of days, the price of Chinese aluminum billet fell 0.7 percent on Monday. The Chinese aluminum cash price rose by 0.2 percent. The price of Chinese aluminum scrap remained steady. For the fifth day in a row, the price of Chinese aluminum bar remained essentially flat.
Current Copper Prices
The copper cash price closed up April 8, 2013 at $7,376 per metric ton, halting two days of weakening prices on the LME with a 0.5 percent shift. The 3-month price of copper is back up, rising by 0.5 percent on the LME yesterday to close at $7,412 per metric ton.
The price of US copper producer grade 122 fell 0.3 percent. The price of US copper producer grade 110 declined 0.3 percent also. The price of US copper producer grade 102 saw a 0.2 percent decline. The cash price of primary Japanese copper was unchanged.
Chinese copper closed mixed on Monday. Following a quiet couple of days, the price of Chinese copper bar fell 0.3 percent on Monday. Monday saw the cash price of Chinese copper drift down 0.3 percent after a couple of stagnant days. Monday saw the price of Chinese copper wire drift down 0.1 percent after three quiet days. The price of Chinese bright copper scrap remained essentially flat.
