Cash Price of Primary Indian Aluminum Rises 0.8%

The Indian aluminum cash price saw a 0.8 percent increase on April 8, 2013, reaching INR 102.05 ($1.86) per kilogram and making it the biggest mover for the day. Following a two-day drop, the aluminum 3-month price increased by 0.7 percent on the LME to $1,874 per metric ton. Following a 0.6 percent rise on Monday, the primary aluminum cash price closed on the LME at $1,844 per metric ton.

Chinese aluminum closed mixed yesterday. Following a quiet couple of days, the price of Chinese aluminum billet fell 0.7 percent on Monday to CNY 14,350 ($2,317) per metric ton. The Chinese aluminum cash price rose by 0.2 percent to CNY 14,460 ($2,335) per metric ton. The price of Chinese aluminum scrap remained steady at CNY 12,445 ($2,009) per metric ton. For the fifth day in a row, the price of Chinese aluminum bar remained essentially flat at CNY 14,050 ($2,269) per metric ton.
