Japanese Silver Switches Direction

The price of Japanese silver fell 0.9 percent on April 9, 2013 to JPY 857.00 ($8.63) per 10 grams, making it the day’s biggest mover. Chinese silver saw its price rise 0.5 percent to CNY 5,570 ($897.53) per kilogram. US silver ended the day at $27.30 per ounce, after the 0.2 percent drop yesterday. Indian silver finished the day up 0.1 percent to INR 51,330 ($940.45) per kilogram.

US gold bullion prices saw a 0.6 percent decline to $1,573 per ounce. Japanese gold bullion prices rose 0.5 percent to JPY 5,023 ($50.57) per gram. The price of Chinese gold bullion fell 0.2 percent to CNY 315.30 ($50.81) per gram. Following a couple days of improvement, the price of Indian gold bullion weakened by 0.2 percent. Prices closed at INR 29,250 ($535.91) per 10 grams.

Japanese platinum bar prices inched up 0.9 percent to JPY 4,934 ($49.68) per gram. US platinum bar closed 0.3 percent lower at $1,532 per ounce. The price of Chinese platinum bar showed little movement yesterday at CNY 326.00 ($52.53) per gram.

Japanese palladium bar gained 0.5 percent to finish at JPY 2,348 ($23.64) per gram. After a 0.4 percent increase, US palladium bar finished the day at $730.00 per ounce. Chinese palladium bar held its value yesterday at CNY 166.00 ($26.75) per gram.
