The week’s biggest mover on the weekly Renewables MMI® was the price of silicon, which saw a 8.5 percent decline to CNY 13,000 ($2,101) per metric ton. This comes on the heels of a 7.6 percent increase the week before. The price of Chinese cobalt cathodes fell 2.4 percent to CNY 200,000 ($32,322) per metric ton after rising 2.5 percent the week before. After a 1.2 percent decline, Chinese steel plate closed out the week at CNY 4,230 ($683.62) per metric ton. Closing at CNY 425,000 ($68,407) per metric ton, neodymium remained unchanged for the week.
Japanese steel plate remained essentially flat from the previous week at JPY 72,000 ($743.69) per metric ton. Following a steady week, prices for Korean steel plate closed flat at KRW 1.1 million ($980.92) per metric ton. The price of Chinese steel plate declined 1.2 percent over the past week, settling at CNY 4,230 ($683.62) per metric ton. In the past week, US steel plate saw its price shift up 0.5 percent to $755.00 per short ton.
